We are very grateful that Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute chose our studio for the complete redesign of its website. Having worked together for a number of years to maintain their previous web solution, a relationship of trust between our two organizations was already well-established.

The Institute is world-renowned for its major contributions to AI. The Mila community now includes the greatest concentration of academic researchers in deep learning in the world. The Institute stands out for its expertise and innovations in language modelling, machine translation, object recognition and generative models. It is therefore an honour for our small web development studio to have succeeded in obtaining this redesign mandate, especially considering the field of cutting-edge technology in which the Institute operates.

The new graphic chart created by Brandbourg was interpreted by Charles Daoud and Stéfanie René, who acquired the mandate to bring the brand to life on the web. Lima Charlie oversaw the entire project, from the development of wireframes and web models to delivery of the new platform.

The new website, recently launched online, includes many pages. Thanks to its new Drupal CMS, the client can create customized pages using a block system. Over time, this will give Mila’s communications team a great deal of flexibility, while ensuring optimal rendering since the CSS has been custom-made. The website has also been connected to two APIs for populating scientific publications as well as the directory in which the professors, Mila team members, board of directors and students can be found.
Special safety measures also had to be put in place to meet the Institute’s requirements. In addition, WCAG 2.1 A accessibility standards were respected to ensure that the experience was optimal for as many people as possible.
